Job Description

Reorg Research’s Latin American coverage aims to provide investors and other financial professionals with market-leading intelligence on high-yield, distressed debt and corporate restructurings in the region. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of covering the Argentine corporate and sovereign debt market and the broader LatAm financial markets.

Fluency in Spanish and ability to read and write in English is a must. The journalist will be will be hired on a freelance/contract basis and expected to break news and produce stories consisting of a mix of company intelligence and sector-focused situations.

Reorg Research is based in New York, but the position will be based in the local market. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a dynamic group of reporters, analysts, lawyers and investors and will be interested in assuming more responsibility to grow a new product within the existing company.

Requirements include:
-Outgoing personality with a drive to get out in the market and develop sources to produce market-moving news.
- Develop and maintain rapport with key contacts in the hedge fund, private equity and investment banking communities
-Strong communication skills and positive attitude to work with a team of journalists based throughout the region
-An understanding of fixed-income securities, balance sheets and the broader financial markets
-Strong writing and analytical skills
