Media Organization: Americas Quarterly
Americas Quarterly is the leading publication dedicated to politics, business and culture in the Americas. Its elite, agenda-setting readership includes CEOs, senior government officials and thought leaders, as well as a general-interest audience passionate about the Americas.
Borrowing elements from The Economist, Foreign Affairs and National Geographic – but with a focus on Latin America – AQ is dedicated to covering the region in all its diversity and promise. Launched in 2007 and based in New York City, AQ is an independent publication of Americas Society/Council of the Americas, which for more than 50 years have been dedicated to dialogue in our hemisphere.
Our award-winning magazine and website have a proud tradition of portraying the real Latin America, while working to promote our main values: democracy, inclusive economic growth and equal rights for all of the hemisphere’s nearly 1 billion citizens.
Are you passionate about Latin America? Are you entrepreneurial? Do you enjoy writing about important political, economic, and cultural topics for a large audience? If so, please apply for this unique paid internship for Americas Society and Council of the Americas (AS/COA) and its independent publication, Americas Quarterly (AQ). Founded in 2008 and based in New York City, AQ is the premier publication on politics, business, and culture in Latin America.
This is an exciting time to be here, with many opportunities for our interns to learn and grow with us. Your responsibilities will include: researching, writing, and editing for AQ’s print magazine and website, developing social media and multimedia content, working on AS/COA’s policy research and support team, attending meetings and interacting with AS/COA members, and assisting with administrative tasks as needed.
The Americas Society/Council of the Americas is an equal opportunity employer. Please email cover letter, resume, and a one-page writing sample on a recent event in Latin America to Benjamin Russell at email@example.com. No phone calls please. Please note availability in your cover letter, and include “Spring Americas Quarterly Internship” in the subject line of your email.
