Job Description

WhatWhat is looking for a senior audio producer for Season 2 of the acclaimed podcast Masters of Scale.

Job details

Work with the WaitWhat team and hosts to research and generate guest ideas, episode ideas, theories and the season arc

Drafting and writing episodes in ways true to the hosts' voices and the show's spirit

Continually developing the show's content to ensure quality and originality

Innovative thinking around the use of sound design and music to further the show’s signature style

Drafting creative ads in conjunction with the host and show advertisers

Completing production plan, schedule and refining the show budget

Book, coordinate studio recordings

Recording, editing and light mixing each project to ensure the highest audio quality possible

Record and produce ads

Coordinating on site photography / video of interviews

Lead audio feedback cycles with host and WaitWhat

Managing the show's production schedule to ensure timely publishing

Collaborate / coordinate with audio engineers for final mix and mastering

Complete final QC process, integrate ads and publish podcast episodes online

Delivering successful cross-promotion, publicity and marketing campaigns

Supporting audience engagement tactics, including show-related newsletters, social media posts, online communities, etc

Your skills

7+ years of producing podcasts / radio programs that reach a large audience

A passion for telling innovative stories and creating genre busting programming.

Interest in bringing to life creative stories in business, tech and with startups

Expertise in audio editing (in ProTools) episode delivery and publishing

Highly organized and able to meet weekly deadlines

Proven critical thinking and problem solving skills

Superior communication skills, both written and verbal

WaitWhat is headquartered in New York City. This is a contract position with the possibility for longer term opportunities. Length of engagement July 2017 - January 2018.
