Company Description
Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national service organization for the not-for-profit professional theatre, seeks to strengthen and promote the industry by providing professional development for theatre leaders, grants to theatres and theatre artists, research and data analysis for the field, advocacy on the federal level, and a variety of publications, including American Theatre magazine and our award-winning book program. TCG is looking for highly motivated, organized intern candidates with office experience to fill the following positions for our Fall/Spring/Summer terms.
Job Description
As the national service organization for the not-for-profit professional theatre, TCG offers services in line with our mission: to strengthen, nurture, and promote the not-for-profit American theatre. TCG serves theatre artists and organizations by recognizing and encouraging activism, artistry, advocacy and global citizenship. We provide professional development for theatre leaders, research and data analysis for the field, advocacy on the federal level, as well as the publication of American Theatre magazine, ARTSearch, and our award-winning book program.
American Theatre Magazine Intern:
Intern will work closely with the staff of the magazine, assisting with a variety of editorial and administrative tasks such as fact checking, proofreading, photo research and story planning, with the possibility of some writing assignments. Candidates must have strong journalism skills and should submit a writing sample when applying. Intern may also work with the book program, assisting in editorial duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
See individual internship descriptions for specific qualifications. All internship positions require that candidates possess excellent writing, communication, and computer skills.
