Art Science Research Laboratory (ASRL) was co-founded in 1998 by Rhonda Roland Shearer, an artist, art historian and journalist and her late husband, Harvard professor and scientist, Stephen Jay Gould.

ASRL’s non-partisan journalism ethics program and news site iMediaEthics, encourages the media’s use of scientific methods and experts before publication. iMediaEthics also publishes investigations of factual errors and ethical breaches by media outlets.

Job Description

iMediaEthics, an award-winning media ethics news website that covers domestic and global media ethics issues, is looking for part-time freelancers to jump-start an initiative promoting higher standards in media polling.

Based on the AAPOR transparency initiative where media pollsters must pledge to the ethical practice of making their questions and methods transparent, the iMediaEthics initiative is an editorial campaign to ensure media outlets are adhering to best practices. Working with editors, you will help plan and execute the campaign. This is a short-term project.

Ideal candidates will have journalism or public policy backgrounds.
