Media Organization: GALO Magazine
Company Description
GALO Magazine, a digital arts, entertainment and culture magazine aimed at millennials and Gen Xers, is looking for contributors and volunteers who are not only passionate and creative, but would be able to deliver weekly or daily pieces.
These positions would be unpaid for now; however, contributors would have a chance to have their work published digitally as well as be a part of a growing start-up at which diverse opportunities outside of the writing spectrum would arise (experience in marketing and growing our social media followers and subscribers, for instance).
I would also be providing contributors with their own byline, an author page with bio, a place on the Masthead, and press passes/credentials to exclusive events, festivals, etc. -- not to mention all the unique interview opportunities!
Currently, the position is a work from home one; therefore, there is no need to worry about morning commute or being based in New York City or L.A. exclusively! However, a working computer and a reliable internet connection are a must.
Movie & TV Contributors
We are looking for several individuals to write breaking news, features, reviews, listicles and Q&As. Coverage would include film festivals, events, screeners, and interviews with both renowned and lesser known film directors, actors, screenwriters and others involved in the film/TV industry. Pieces will range from 100 to 500 words to ones that go beyond 1,200 words. For festival, event and film premiere coverage, you must live in either NYC or L.A. Those accepted would be asked to begin work immediately.
We are also looking for a dedicated team of writers who would cover these specific shows by writing episode recaps, short features, news, listicles and Q&As: Arrow, iZombie, The Vampire Diaries, Reign, Jane The Virgin, Blindspot, Quantico, Scandal, Pretty Little Liars, Once Upon A Time, AND OTHERS!
Music Contributors
We are looking for several individuals to write breaking news, features, reviews, listicles and Q&As. Coverage would include concerts, events, album previews, and interviews with both renowned and lesser known bands, musicians and singers. Pieces will range from 100 to 500 words to ones that go beyond 1,200 words. Those accepted would be asked to begin work immediately.
I will provide more information about the position if you are accepted, inclusive of various story lengths, deadlines and guidelines.

Or maybe you rush home straight after work so you won’t miss the next episode of your favorite show? Do you enjoy the discovery and recommendation process that comes with finding a new artist that you know has the talent to make it big? Are you obsessed with celebrities and the entertainment world? If so, we want YOU!
