Since 2005 Charlottesville Tomorrow has been the trusted source of in-depth information on key quality of life issues before local government in the city of Charlottesville and Albemarle County in central Virginia. Charlottesville Tomorrow's award-winning journalism is widely distributed to the public through partnerships with The Daily Progress newspaper (print & online editions), on our website, in weekly email newsletters, and in local election voter guides.
We believe informed citizens create better communities. Our nonprofit mission is to inform and engage the public by providing clear, non-partisan information and research on land use, transportation, community design and public education issues with the confidence an informed public will make decisions that will protect and build upon the distinctive character of the Charlottesville-Albemarle area.
Job Description
Semester Interns at Charlottesville Tomorrow are trained as staff reporters to cover local government meetings and events producing articles for publication on our website and in many cases with our media partners (The Daily Progress - BH Media).
Interns also assist with events, social media, and provide general administrative and research support.
Successful applicants will have strong computer and writing skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and possess a strong interest in local government gained through educational or professional experience on issues such as land use, transportation, community design, and public education.
