Job Description
Are you looking for hands on experience and what it takes to be an Editor, a Reporter, or Correspondent?
We are looking for new applicants from NYU journalism with energy and ideas who possess a keen understanding of social media and the evolving digital media landscape.
All roles begin on the editorial desk and positions can lead to reporting assignments and longer term correspondent postings.
Strong writing ability, excellent news judgement, a sound understanding of economics and multimedia skills are all essential. Knowledge of global affairs, technology & cyber security, and are desirable.
Primary responsibility is to support the senior editorial staff. Responsibilities include proofreading, research, drafting of content, liaising with contributors and news sources, coordination of submission deadlines, social media and marketing assistance.
This is a high-profile, fast-paced job that requires excellent news judgment, a steady head and an ability to make smart, quick decisions under pressure. This position will be based in the heart of the SoHo, New York newsroom and will be a key to senior leaders and our digital team.
The successful applicants can be new to the industry of journalism; but will be comfortable writing and editing the world's top stories to real-time deadlines.
