Media Organization: amNewYork
Company Description
amNewYork publishes a free newspaper Monday through Friday focused on New York City. We are owned by Newsday, and sometimes swap content with one another.
Job Description
AmNewYork is interested in working with student journalists, who have some experience freelancing or publishing articles or are at a stage where they are ready to freelance.
We’re mostly looking for help with our real estate section. We pay $75 for straightforward, 400-word stories that can usually be reported out from home with a few phone calls or quickly covered by attending one event. We pay as much as $250 for covers and other more involved stories.
We’d love to touch base with students who have ideas to pitch, as well as those who want to discuss freelancing more generally and are interested in reporting out assignments when available.
Thanks,
Sarina Trangle
