Media Organization: TheBodyPro.com
Company Description
As the essential resource for people whose work intersects with the HIV/AIDS epidemic, TheBodyPRO delivers accurate and useful information, vital perspectives, and a personal touch. We are interested in stories that provide news, analysis, insight, and resources regarding best practices and emerging trends within the HIV workforce.
Topics we cover span the range of the HIV care continuum and beyond, including HIV education, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, viral suppression, mental health, policy, law, quality of care, and a host of other issues that impact HIV. We especially seek to cover topics of importance to people and communities that have traditionally not received the attention and support they deserve.
Job Description
We are in need of highly skilled, knowledgeable health and medical writers who are interested in working with us on any of the following:
News/research briefs: Short articles (usually 400 to 600 words) summarizing the most important aspects of new HIV-related research and other HIV developments. Articles seek to put news in context through the inclusion of original quotes by the people behind these developments, as well as topical experts.
Reported articles: Expanded, detailed examinations of new research or other developments. These moderate-length articles (usually 800 to 1200 words) include background, context, and several quotes, which together provide a thoughtful analysis of the relevance of the story for the HIV workforce.
Op-eds and personal stories: Perspectives from members of the HIV workforce on developments and trends within their field -- or on the realities and challenges of their professional lives.
In-depth feature reporting: Long-form articles, interviews, videos, or moderated roundtable discussions that deeply explore an HIV-related issue of significant relevance or importance to 1) the HIV workforce or 2) the care of people at risk for, living with, or affected by HIV. Includes significant background research and context, and usually requires skill with interview preparation, execution, and transcription.
Pay rates per article will differ depending on the type and length of the piece.
