Job Description
Scholastic News, a weekly magazine that provides current events and nonfiction articles to millions of students in elementary schools across the United States, is seeking an editorial intern to begin working in the fall. The intern would be working on the magazines for grades four, five, and six. The responsibilities include fact-checking, researching and pitching story ideas, writing short articles, and handling other administrative duties.
The ideal candidate is someone who is studying journalism, has experience working for a news website, newspaper, or magazine, and has a knowledge of elementary school curriculum. The internship would run from September to early December. The intern would need to be available to come into the office, located in New York City, two days a week from 10 am to 6 pm.
