The Economist is now accepting applicants for the 2020 Marjorie Deane internship. Interns will spend three to four months working beside writers and researchers in The Economist’s New York bureau. This is a paid internship, funded by the Marjorie Deane Financial Journalism Foundation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Creative thinking: brainstorm and present article ideas to pitch to editors and writing approved pitches
Research: Conduct independent research and interviews for articles
Collaboration: Participating in weekly meetings with New York’s editorial staff
Relationship building: Occasionally collaborate with other writers on articles they may be working on
