Job Description

Smart + Strong is looking for a freelance science writer for its online and print publications. The ideal candidate should have at least one to three years’ experience at a consumer magazine and website.

The individual should be highly motivated and able to write engaging, interesting and concise copy in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. A background in health reporting and/or a working knowledge of cancer or liver disease is a plus. This position reports to the Science Editor.

Responsibilities include:

• Work closely with Science Editor to develop story ideas for online and print
• Research, write and edit articles for online and print
• Conduct interviews with doctors, scientists and academics
• Establish a network of industry experts
• Schedule and post articles in CMS with appropriate artwork
