The Chief has been around more than 125 years, initially covering just the NYC Fire Department, hence the name. We now concentrate on public- and private-sector unions, but also cover some politics and crime. We're a weekly broadsheet with an increasing web presence. We're a small shop but publish consequential work.

Job Description

The Chief, a weekly print publication and website covering New York City unions, labor issues, government, law enforcement and some politics, is seeking a fall reporting intern whose responsibilities will be determined based on their interests and our needs.

We publish news, features and profiles that in some capacity address and reflect the world of work and labor, which we define fairly broadly.

This is a remote position and candidates must be able to secure school credit for the internship.
