Journalism Internship

Media Organization: Slate Magazine

Company Description

Slate is a daily Web magazine. Founded in 1996, we are a general-interest publication offering analysis and commentary about politics, news, business, technology, and culture. Slate's strong editorial voice and witty take on current events have been recognized with numerous awards, including the National Magazine Award for General Excellence Online. Job Description

Slate.com's New York office is looking for applicants for a fall internship with the Photo and Art department. Applicants must be matriculated students, available at least 15 hours a week for 10-12 weeks starting in early September. Interns will gain hands-on experience editing photos, creating slideshows and selecting art for an award-winning online magazine. This is an editing — not shooting — internship, however there are ample opportunities for motivated interns to work on special projects and publish their work.
