Interactive One is a wholly owned subsidiary of Radio One (www.radio-one.com), a publicly traded cross-platform media company that is the 5th largest terrestrial Radio company in the country and the controlling owner of TV One, the fastest growing network in cable television. The Company has over 130 employees based in New York City and has enjoyed rapid growth over the last 2 years. Current revenue is expected to exceed $20 million in 2010.
A Web-savvy journalist/editor/blogger that specializes in hard news of interest to Black Americans. An abiding fascination with and deep knowledge of the political, economic and cultural affairs of African-Americans.
The ability to identify and then plan strategic, continuing coverage of key stories and issues affecting Black America. A diligent reporter; an impeccable writer; and a good copy editor. A high level of web skills. You can maintain a blog CMS (WordPress) and know how to do rudimentary photo resizing, audio and video editing.
A minimum of 4 years of professional journalism experience. At least 2 of those at a digital and multimedia company. Possess 4 years experience working on professional websites.
Experience with marketing and distributing content over the web. At least 2 years hands-on WordPress experience.
