Guanabee Media, publisher of Anyguey.com "The Ultimate Guy's Guide" is seeking a savvy writer for its sports and tech section. As Associate Editor you will be responsible for covering sports, tech and other male focused news items. If you have an obsession with soccer, gadgets, chichas and funny stuff and possess a sensitivity for Latino culture, this job is perfect for you.

Job Description

In this hands-on position you will be responsible for:

* Researching, writing and editing news stories that have national appeal for a young influential Latino audience.
* Write strong, authoritative headlines.
* Copy-edit own work
* Add context and perspective to news stories
* Help manage original content for the site, including conceiving of story ideas and working with writers.
* Report and observe trends in traffic figures
* Manage a network of contacts, publicists, freelancers, and tipsters

Qualifications:

* 1+ year of journalism experience
* Prior experience with blogging and content management systems
* Ability to write clearly and persuasively
* Familiarity with online media landscape
* Extremely detail-oriented, comfortable multi-tasking and balancing concurrent responsibilities and deadlines
* Keen interest in entertainment and pop culture
* Ability to work closely with a dedicated team of writers
* Excellent research, communication and organizational skills. Sound interesting? Send us a brief cover letter, your resume and a couple clips. The ideal candidate will be located in New York. This is a work-at-home, 30 to 40-hour-per-week position. Pay is per post. Having a high-speed internet connection and a reliable, relatively new computer is a must.
