UrbanDaddy is an internet magazine company that covers the latest in restaurants, nightlife, fashion, products and trends for hip, trend-seeking professionals (you can check out archived articles at www.urbandaddy.com). We deliver one email a day that covers a single piece of content—something new, interesting and undiscovered. Our editions include National, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Dallas, D.C. and Jetset. Our main offices are located just off of Union Square in downtown New York City.

Job Description

If you are looking for a formal, corporate internship, please move on. If you're looking for a fun, dynamic, creative internship with a young startup company, where socializing is a must and a sense of humor is required, then read on.
As an editorial intern at UrbanDaddy, you will get to be a part of the inner workings of a daily internet publication. You will get to see how stories develop at every stage, from pitches and research to writing, editing and publishing.
You will get to participate in calendaring sessions, editorial and creative meetings, you will help conduct research for stories, go on local scouting and information gathering assignments. You will learn how to copyedit and fact check. You will get to interact with PR firms as a media representative. If your writing is strong enough, you may get to write some stories. You may also get to attend press parties and opening events for restaurants and clubs, and really get a view of the inner workings of the New York scene and how media fits into it all.
If you have an interest in journalism, you will learn a lot at this internship. Our editorial team is small so you will play an important role and get a lot of exposure. We value our interns.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- MUST have excellent writing and communication skills
- Must be highly organized, efficient and a hard worker
- Must have an interest in journalism and internet media
- Strong interpersonal and phone skills are required
- MUST have a love for NYC and a desire to go out and have fun

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Our internships are unpaid. We will be happy to assist you in earning academic credit. You will, however, get free meals here and there, land invites to parties and openings, and maybe snag some free samples of products and clothes once in a while. But most of all, we guarantee you'll have a fun, unique experience and learn a lot—in addition to earning our undying gratitude. Which you just can't put a price on.
