The Knot Inc. is looking for a fall-semester intern to work on our magazines and websites. Your duties here will be primarily editorial -- you'll find sources for stories, interview experts, and write sidebars and entire bylined features, depending on your talent and drive. Please be as enthusiastic about completing administrative tasks as you are about writing and reporting. You will likely have additional opportunities to blog, tweet, and produce slideshows for our online brands (including TheKnot.com, WeddingChannel.com, TheNest.com, and TheBump.com), as well as attend photo shoots and other events.
You need to be tech- and Internet-savvy, a strong writer, able to handle multiple tasks, reliable, very organized, and not afraid to ask questions. You should also be experienced with the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe InCopy and Photoshop and have a basic knowledge of HTML. An interest in weddings, decor, cooking, travel, and/or babies is helpful. Applicants with magazine/website internship experience or college journalism experience are highly preferred. Undergraduate emphasis in journalism, English, or communications is a plus but not required. You must be able to receive course credit. A small stipend will be provided.
