Job Description

Debtwire, a division of the Financial Times Group, is seeking a full-time summer intern for its New York City offices.

Candidates must be full-time graduate students, enrolled at a college or university and working toward a degree in journalism, preferably with a concentration in financial or business reporting. The ideal candidate will be energetic, self-motivated, responsible, organized, detail oriented and have a passion for breaking news.

The selected intern will work closely with a team of twelve skilled financial journalists. The internship will be an opportunity for aspiring reporters to acquire professional experience and to gain a preliminary understanding of the complex world of the municipal market, leveraged finance, corporate bankruptcies, and financial restructurings.

Responsibilities will include working on special projects and assisting members of the editorial staff as needed. Interns will also have the opportunity to research story concepts, conduct interviews and write articles.

Applicants must be available to intern 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. This is a paid internship. The position will start in June and run through August. The exact start and end dates are flexible.
