Job Description

I'm looking for a teaching assistant or co-instructor for a journalism study abroad course I'm teaching next summer.

The 3-week course is being offered through a New York City area university and will take place in Germany from approximately late May to mid June 2012. Students will learn about (and practice) travel writing and foreign correspondence. You will give lectures, work with students one-on-one and provide feedback.

In addition, you will need to meet with the students and me at least a couple times in Spring 2012. So, you should live in the New York City area or be within commuting distance.

Fluency in German is an absolute must - please do not apply unless you speak German fluently. You must have at least a bachelor's degree and some experience in journalism.

Preference given to candidates who have spent time in Germany, have multimedia skills (including shooting and editing video and digital photography) have teaching experience and/or have travel writing or foreign correspondence experience.

The position pays well. In addition to receiving a salary, the TA/co-instructor will have all expenses covered, including airfare and accommodations in Germany.
