Job Description

The New York Times Beijing bureau is losing one of its most talented news researchers to Columbia University law school and is seeking to replace her in June. We are looking for someone who is smart, endlessly curious, passionately committed to journalism, totally bilingual and preferably bicultural as well. Must have sophisticated research skills and a keen eye for news, features, investigative and enterprise stories. Must be willing to travel extensively within China, often on short notice. Journalism experience, either as a researcher or writer, is much preferred. So is a sense of humor and an ability to work well with a team of other researchers and writers.
