Journalism Internship
Media Organization: Billboard
Company Description
Music industry magazine Billboard, its consumer-facing site Billboard.com, and its business-focused site Billboard.biz are seeking interns for Spring Semester 2012, preferably to start in January 2012.
Job Description
Under the guidance of editors, interns are responsible for researching editorial packages, assisting with online production, and light transcription. Above all, interns have the opportunity to write and report music news, interview artists, review albums and live concerts, etc. This is not a coffee-fetching internship, and Billboard has an excellent track record of hiring former interns. Interns are expected to work 2-5 days a week in our NYC offices. Sadly, this is an unpaid position, so college credit is a must.
Applicants MUST have published experience writing on the topics of music and/or the music industry, as well as an awareness of what’s happening on our famous charts. Fluency in HTML is a MAJOR plus.
To Apply
Send cover letter (in email body), resume, and published writing samples (links, please) to jillian.mapes@billboard.com. Deadline is Dec. 1, 2011.
