Reader’s Digest is the original content curator and condenser, featuring trusted, time-saving insights. The magazine and website focus on delivering relevant information on topics of interest to modern families: health, food, family, travel and finance expertly curated from hundreds of sources, augmented with original reporting and reader-generated content. Reader’s Digest print magazine reaches 30 million readers per issue with a paid circulation of 5.5 million, plus an additional 1.7 million readers and 450,000 subscribers to the large print edition. The U.S. magazine was the winner in 2009 of the American Society of Magazine Editors’ highest award for General Excellence and is now published on the iPad, Nook, and Kindle as well as the Zinio digital newsstand and in large print form.
Reader’s Digest is seeking a few enthusiastic, well-read, and dedicated interns to work side-by-side with staff editors and researchers during the Spring 2012 semester in our Manhattan offices. You will: assist in research for story development; attend editorial meetings; fact check articles; help identify potential reprint articles and new sources for reprints; and assist with a variety of editorial and administrative tasks.
Applicants must be enrolled in a college that recognizes internships for credit. Recent grads who are not enrolled will not be considered. Hours are flexible but interns should be able to work a minimum of 2 days or 15 hours per week.
