Journalism Internship
Media Organization: Mercury Radio Arts
Company Description
Mercury Radio Arts is Glenn Beck’s fully integrated production and media company. It features Mr. Beck’s third highest-rated radio show, books authored by Beck and others, live stage-shows, a news and opinion website The Blaze, and a brand new subscription-based internet TV network GBTV.
GBTV, which launched on September 12th, features original programming including Glenn’s daily 2-hour live show, exclusive documentaries, news, information, and other entertainment exclusive to GBTV. All programs will be broadcast in HD and will be available live or on-demand across multiple viewing platforms. The network launched earlier this month and already has more paid subscribers than Oprah’s network has viewers.
Glenn Beck is the host of the 3rd most listened-to radio show in America, reaching 10 million weekly listeners. He has authored seven #1 New York Times bestsellers across nearly every genre. Glenn recently ended his Fox News television show, which, until its conclusion, was the third highest show in all of cable news despite being on at the non-primetime hour of 5pm. In 2010, Glenn held a non-political event in Washington, DC called Restoring Honor which brought hundreds of thousands of people to the mall at the foot of the Lincoln Memorial. This August, he made an equally bold statement with an event at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, Israel. Glenn’s websites, including Glennbeck.com and his online news and opinions website TheBlaze.com, receive 3-4 million unique visitors per month.
