Journalism Internship

Media Organization: The Village Voice

Company Description

When it was founded by Dan Wolf, Ed Fancher and Norman Mailer in October of 1955, the Village Voice introduced free-form, high-spirited, and passionate journalism into the public discourse. As the nation's first and largest alternative newsweekly, the Voice maintains the same tradition of no-holds-barred reporting and criticism it first embraced when it began publishing.

Job Description

The Village Voice is looking for a creative, reliable intern to join our team part-time this fall and assist with the development of food and drink stories. Our ideal intern will have an interest in New York's food culture, possess strong writing and researching skills, and have some experience with digital photography. Duties will include sourcing materials for upcoming stories, providing general editorial support, and learning the ins and outs of our newspaper and blog production.

To Apply

After visiting the food section at www.villagevoice.com/restaurants/, email a CV and cover letter to Tejal Rao, at trao@villagevoice.com, telling us why you'd be a good fit. If you have links to relevant writing clips and photography, please include those as well.
