CBS News is seeking an intern for the Investigative Unit for fall 2012. This department produces hard‐hitting, in‐depth stories covering government waste, homeland security, terrorism, crime, health insurance, medical fraud, etc. Participants must have good computer skills, excellent written and oral communication abilities, knowledge of current events and a 3.0 GPA. Duties can include generating story ideas, transcribing video tapes, conducting research and preliminary interviews, identifying interview subjects and story elements, assisting with the set up of shoots and clerical duties. Intern must be ambitious, enthusiastic, a self‐starter and a good researcher. Previous newsroom or journalism experience is a plus. Juniors, seniors and graduate students are eligible. This is an unpaid internship.
