Paid Journalism Internship
Media Organization: AOL
Yes, AOL has been around for more than 25 years, and yes, we are a leading global web services company operating one of the largest Internet subscription access services in the United States... but big-time things are in the works here. Our already extensive suite of brands now includes industry game-changers such as Huffington Post, Patch, TechCrunch and About.Me. We're working with up-and-coming artists from around the globe to re-invent our brand and help shape the art and design of tomorrow. We're not just embracing the newest online technologies, we are creating them. And at this very moment, we are re-energizing the Web as you know it with the highest quality content possible. Bottom line: We're not your grandma's AOL.
AOL On is seeking a hard-working editorial intern for a full-time paid internship position in our New York office. This person will work closely with the our Programming Managers on research, content curation, video playlists, editorial planning topical pages and idea generation. Our interns don’t get us coffee – they curate and generate compelling, engaging and relevant content that over 50M eyeballs consume on a daily basis. Note: This is not a role with heavy writing or original content production.
The ideal candidate will have some concrete experience with editorial work, content management, social media and researching from a previous media internship or school newspaper experience. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a fast-paced, quickly growing site in its beginning stages and make a measurable difference as a part of a dedicated and passionate team.
All candidates should absolutely LOVE web video and be obsessed with the great wide Internet in general – we’re looking for News and Entertainment junkies, Lifestyle enthusiasts and people who are active – not just present – online. Strong advantage for bloggers and active, social users who have an eye for must-see content. Are you the one always calling out new memes and hilarious videos to your friends before they make the rounds? Could you write a thesis on the Kardashians? Do you know and read every tech or style blog under the sun? If so, your place may be with us!
