Media Organization: Sensible Reason

Company Description

Sensible Reason is a music, arts, and politics blog based out of NYC. We have approximately 15,000 page views per month. Artists that we work closely with include Lotus, Umphrey's McGee, Keller Williams, the Disco Biscuits, and more. We have media partnerships with major festivals including Camp Bisco and Aura Music and Arts Festival. While electronic music is our strongest and most popular section, we really love getting different posts from art gallery reviews and political commentary that is exceptionally insightful. While we generally look for posts that are under “music, arts, and politics” we really look for any post that has an insightful opinion and thus we have covered other topics including gardening, sports, etc. We have approximately 10 contributors to our blog, allowing for us to work intimately with each contributor, teaching them how to use Word Press, improve their writing skills, improve their posts' Search Engine Optimization, etc.; all skills that will be essential in the ever evolving world of blogging.

Job Description

Sensible Reason is a national music, arts, and politics blog based out of NYC. We are looking for work of high quality in the areas of the arts, music, and politics.

Sensible Reason is able to provide access to press and photo credentials to events if they are needed. We are also able to contact artists, musicians, etc. for interviews. If previews/reviews are done well, there is potential for festival/major event coverage. From there, there is potential for editorial contribution which requires learning in more detail about Word Press and Search Engine Optimization.

We are looking for someone who is a talented and creative writer, is able to meet short deadlines, and is eager to have their opinions heard. Candidates should have unique interests that they would like to bring to the blog and enjoy learning (as tools and techniques in blogging are ever changing).
