Media Organization: Curbed Network
The Curbed Network publishes the popular websites Curbed.com (design and real estate scoops), Eater.com (restaurant and nightlife gossip), and Racked.com (shopping and retail intelligence) in two dozen markets across America. In New York City, its flagship Curbed NY, Eater NY, and Racked NY sites set the agenda for the city's young influencers. With offices in the East Village of Manhattan, the company nurtures a hothouse of smart editorial, tech, and sales folks in a cooperative, occasionally wacky, environment.
We're looking for summer interns for each of our brands -- Curbed, Eater, and Racked. Interns work directly for editors, undertaking journalistic tasks included but not limited to research, fact-checking, attending community board meetings, and, if proven worthy, photography and blog post writing. Our internships tend to click best for applicants with a overwhelming personal fascination with the topic of our sites. If, for example, you already happen to know which of next month's restaurant openings you're most excited about, you'd probably be a great fit for Eater.
Internships are all based in NYC; days and times are flexible.
Print resume; place in trash can; light afire. Then, write us a short letter about yourself -- who you are and why you're interested in the internship. If you've got a blog of your own, or a social media presence that won't repel us, send along those links, too. If we like what we see, we'll follow up quickly.
