Job Description
The Web Specialist is responsible for liaising with various departments to oversee the content development and operations of Cravath’s website, as well as for monitoring the website’s performance, updating content and initiating new features.
Job Responsibilities include: Creating an editorial calendar that ensures regular updates, including coverage of Firm news, publications, ranking for Partner and Firm recognition; driving the effort for updating website material by drafting original content, editing other’s content to ensure consistency and suggesting improvements to previously written or supplied text; developing new ideas to keep the site interesting, fresh and attractive to potential clients; creating and upholding Cravath-style; working with the IT department to ensure all website technology operates smoothly and that search engine optimization is accounted for; continuously testing the site for problem areas; reviewing analytics to denote traffic to the website, note user patterns and suggest areas for improvement; and performing other duties, as assigned.
Job Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Journalism, Website Design or Communications; experience working on content driven web material; excellent writing skills; a solid understanding of HTML and other protocols used; knowledge of professional service firms or law firms is a plus; the ability to work closely with Partners and administrative staff to update materials; the ability to work independently and work well under pressure to meet deadlines; the confidence to push projects forward with Partners; knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel and Lotus Notes software; and the availability to work additional hours, as needed.
