Job Description

Medical publisher with 2 peer-reviewed journals seeks an editor for our hematology/oncology publication. Duties include: editing, copy editing, inputting changes, proofreading laid-out pages, author correspondence, interviewing physicians, assisting editorial director, writing, and other responsibilities related to producing a high-quality, well-read, and well-respected medical journal.

An ideal position for an editor (especially an NYU SHERP graduate) who enjoys variety and is seeking a challenging position with plenty of room to grow. Ample opportunity to exercise the full range of editorial skills.

Must have 1 to 3 years of editorial experience, preferably with a medical or scientific focus. Must be able to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and be responsible for ensuring a high-quality finished product. Must have excellent editing skills as well as overall language skills. Familiarity with AMA style, InDesign, and Macintosh a plus.
