The American Society of Magazine Editors is the principal organization for magazine journalists in the United States. The members of ASME include the editorial leaders of most major consumer and business magazines published in print and online. Founded in 1963, ASME works to defend the First Amendment and preserve editorial independence. ASME sponsors the National Magazine Awards in association with the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
Job Description
Intern will work 28 hours a week in the ASME offices in east midtown Manhattan. Intern will assist in organizing events; transcribing meetings; organizing and proofreading materials; uploading content to website; and assist in managing National Magazine Award entries. Candidates should have an interest in pursuing a career in magazine journalism.
Current students and recent graduates may apply.
Internship duration is September 15 to January 9, but dates are flexible.
