Paid Journalism Internship

Media Organization: Scripps Networks Interactive

Company Description

Scripps Networks Interactive is the leading developer of high-profile content for many lifestyle media platforms including television, digital, mobile and publishing. Our media portfolio of popular lifestyle brands - HGTV, DIY Network, Food.com, Food Network, Cooking Channel, Travel Channel and Great American Country - connect with viewers to provide relevant ideas, information and solutions every day, everywhere.

Job Description

Food.com, the web’s third largest food and cooking site (part of Scripps Networks Interactive), is looking for a spring intern to join our team. Interns will help with content creation, community/site management, editorial brainstorming, social media and more. All internships are approximately 12 weeks during which time you will learn from experience through hands-on projects, professional interaction and day-to-day operations.

Ideally, you will work 20 hours a week in our Chelsea Market offices. Days are flexible. Spring interns begin 1/26/15.

You must:
• Be detail-oriented
• Be web-savvy
• Be a junior, senior or graduate student at an accredited college/university
• Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0
• Have previous internship experience, participation in college clubs/organizations or in-depth coursework in a related field
• Be legally eligible to work in the United States

A sense of humor and a go-get-‘em attitude is a bonus. A love of food is helpful for the job. A cover letter about your mother’s cooking or all of the great restaurants you’ve tried is not.
