Job Description

What you’ll be doing
You will be working with our talented editorial team, joining our creative process and helping us innovate new and exciting ways to tell stories on the web. Regular duties include graphic and visual design, conceptualizing and building interactive graphics. All internships are paid and start/stop dates are flexible.

Who we are
Shortly before the first issue of The New Republic went on sale a little over a century ago, our founding editor Herbert Croly outlined his vision to a reporter from The New York Times: “The magazine, which is to be a weekly review of current political and social events and a discussion of the theories they involve, is to represent progressive principles, but it is to be independent of any party, or individual in politics.”

Who we’re looking for
We are looking for a smart and ambitious student who is passionate about innovative ways to tell stories on the web. He or she should have a strong technical skill set and be comfortable working with data and coding interactive graphics. The ideal candidate will have relevant past internship experience and a record of exceptional coursework.
