Job Description
GlobalCapital, the capital markets newspaper, is looking for a reporter to cover the US securitization and corporate finance markets in its New York bureau.
The beat will focus on the US residential mortgage-backed securities market, as well as the CLO space.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly capable candidate with solid reporting experience. Some knowledge of the capital markets is preferred. The candidate must be self-sufficient, competitive and eager to learn, immersing themselves in the securitization market to keep track of deal flow, larger trends, and people moves, as well as regulation affecting the sector.
There will be daily news and opinion articles to write for our email newsletters, alongside broader analytical pieces for the weekly print edition. There will also be opportunities to write commissioned features for special reports, which will involve compensation beyond salary.
The candidate must possess an outstanding command of the English language and be confident working to strict deadlines. They must be a team player and willing to learn from and collaborate with other reporters and editors.
They will be encouraged to meet senior contacts within the market face to face as well as travelling to industry conferences and GlobalCapital awards dinners.
