We are a growing new digital team in Miami, including print, infographics, motion graphics, video, etc. - reporters from all over the Spanish speaking world. We cover world and US news in general with a focus on the Hispanics, migration and all issues affecting Latinos in the US.

Job Description

Univision News Digital, headquartered in Miami, is looking for staff video journalists. We’re currently looking for:

1. A role to produce dynamic, youth-oriented daily news video content primarily with text over screen. This role can occasionally dive in Univision’s archive and create compelling mini docs and video content with historical news footage.
2. Two roles to work on video series ranging from gourmet and lifestyle to immigration and human rights
3. A video journalist-editor role to coordinate lifestyle series and productions (trends, lifestyle, fashion, beauty, maternity, etc.)

All positions must be bilingual (Spanish-English) or at least have a decent command of both languages. Excellent shooting (Canon), editing (Avid, Premiere) and storytelling skills. Motion graphics (After Effects) a big plus.

ROLE 1: DAILY VIDEOS
The digital video journalist will work closely with the breaking news team, supporting them with stories in video format; this person should have a demonstrated passion for news and current affairs, an understanding of what makes a video popular online - both in terms of story ideas and editing techniques, knowledge of using social media to record, publish and promote video content.
We’re looking for somebody able to break down a story in one minute of pure information + joy. Ideally you’ll be a journalist + a motion graphic artist / designer + have a really good eye + have a good sense of storytelling + a team player.

ROLE 2: VIDEO JOURNALISTS FOR SERIES
These video journalists will be excellent storytellers able to conceptualize, produce, shoot and edit video series, ongoing and of limited number of episodes. Experience working with freelancers a big plus, as well as motion graphics and animation skills. Must have excellent shooting (Canon) skills, a photographic eye, pay attention to detail, and edit quickly and to high standards (Avid and/or Premiere). Balance deadlines with ambitious enterprise project reporting. Actively contribute to social media

ROLE 3: EDITOR FOR LIFESTYLE

Must have a proven record of directing, coordinating and doing videos for the web. Must have a passion for deep trends and lifestyle issues and video that is documentary style. Broad range of productions and scope of work and a lot of opportunity to grow! Same technical skills as previous roles in terms of shooting and editing knowledge.
