Job Description

As a Staff Writer you will be responsible for writing polished, well-reported stories on the customer experience industry, focusing on customer service, marketing, sales, and employee engagement. Our audience includes C-level executives, directors, and managers of Fortune 500 companies down into the middle market. In this position, you will interview business leaders, industry analysts, thought leaders, and other industry professionals face-to-face and over the phone.

The person in this position will write two articles per week plus a blog that takes a personal perspective on the industry. All articles appear on and in our weekly e-newsletter. In this role, the Staff Writer will also be responsible for ghost writing executive blog posts, case studies, and an occasional whitepaper for 1to1 Media’s parent company, as well as contributing to the company’s quarterly Customer Strategist journal.

Because publishing is rapidly evolving, we are looking for a multi-tasker who is also adept at creating digital e-books on the fly, can record a podcast or a video interview in a jiffy, and find stock images for his or her articles.

We are a tight-knit group of employees who wear multiple hats. We welcome an engaging person who brings a fresh perspective and isn’t afraid to share ideas that he or she gleans from attending industry events, interviews, or from scanning related news sources. This person should also be active in social media.

Position Requirements:
• 4-year college degree
• 2 years of reporting experience with proven ability to interview sources by phone and face-to-face
• Demonstrated knowledge of AP Style
• Experience working under deadlines
• Proven ability to write clearly and concisely
• Ability to travel a minimum of 4 times per year, as well as attend ongoing events in New York City

Desired Qualifications:
• Experience as a business reporter
• Experience in PPT and video production
