WGEM-TV, a 2016 National Edward R. Murrow winner and dominant #1 NBC affiliate in Quincy, Illinois, has an opportunity for a weekend meteorologist.

The WGEM StormTrak Weather team is a dominant local weather brand. Our weather system is state of the art--The Weather Company’s MAX, MAX Storm, MAX Studio and MagicTrak. During severe weather coverage, our meteorologists are supported by a team of award-winning journalists who report live from the field.

The weekend meteorologist is the main fill-in for all weekday meteorologist shifts. This position also involves multimedia journalist work three days a week, when not covering weekday weather shifts. The reporting primarily focuses on weather, energy, agriculture and environmental issues.

WGEM News wins Murrows, EMMYs, and has been recognized time and again by numerous organizations for journalistic excellence, including for live wall-to-wall coverage of Breaking Weather. Our newsroom is a continuous local information source with an immediate deadline mentality to serve our customers on our TV, Radio, Web, Mobile and Social Networking platforms.
