Our format is to have three documentary feature articles and 2-3 other articles about issues related to documentary and journalism. Each documentary feature is accompanied by an original article of 1000 words exploring the issue in greater depth. Past issues have been on the rise of nationalism in Russia, Iran by Iranians, maternal health in Africa and Haiti, the stateless Rohingya, the forgotten Caucasus, and many others. For a full list of past articles with links to the digital versions, see: www.zekemagazine.com
We do not yet know what the features and articles will be for the fall issue but by June 1, we will have made a decision and will want to begin assigning articles to writers. We will generally allow 4-5 weeks for the first draft.
We are unable to offer payment but your work will be published in both the print and digital versions of ZEKE magazine, which is distributed across the US and internationally.
