Job Description

TradeWinds, a global business newspaper covering the shipping industry, is seeking a reporter for its Stamford bureau. The successful candidate will be expected to cover breaking news for our web edition while delivering exclusive news stories, insightful enterprise stories and well-crafted features for our flagship weekly newspaper and quarterly magazine.

This is an opportunity to do hard-hitting independent journalism in the New York area while working for a global publisher of various business titles that pays a competitive salary.

Experienced candidates will be considered for a senior reporting role, but junior reporters with solid journalism skills are also encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates must have:

A dedication to and track record of good independent journalism
The ability to deliver copy that is concise, clear, engaging and clean enough to publish without editing
A commitment to factual accuracy and fair and balanced reporting
The ability to juggle multiple deadlines for various publication cycles
Ideal candidates may also have:

Strong technical skills, including the ability to learn content management systems quickly
Multimedia and digital skills, such as video, audio and still photography
Experience covering business news
Copy editing experience
Additionally, a candidate for a senior role should have a track record as a newsroom leader with experience leading a team of reporters.
