Job Summary

Apple News is seeking an Editorial Intern to be based in Cupertino.

Description

The intern will work closely with editors in Cupertino, New York, London, and Sydney who oversee the human curation of News.

In addition to executing and presenting a summer-long research project, Intern duties will include:

— Working closely with the editorial team on how to present new stories to a wide audience.
— Using analytics to better guide the workflow of the editorial team and key external publishers..
— Working with U.S. and international publishers to gather additional feedback to help inform future iterations of News.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will meet the following criteria:

— Has a passion for great journalism, and is interested in how media, technology, and product intersect.
— Can think creatively about complex problems, and can take initiative to deliver under tight deadlines.
— Can effectively communicate one’s ideas to a large group that may not be knowledgable on the subject material.
— Understands how data can inform the decision-making process and can apply an analytical approach to most problems.

Education
Must be currently enrolled in a Master’s program in a related field of
study, graduating on or after August 2018.  Or must be enrolled in a graduate journalism
program.
