Makeup Madeover (www.makeupmadeover.com) is looking for smart, savvy and experienced freelance writers to join our team!

Makeup Madeover isn't just another beauty site -- and we’re looking for writers who can instill wit, intelligence and something totally new to our publication.

We’re curating a fresh conversation around beauty and makeup that uplifts, inspires, educates and entertains by exploring the shared experiences of all women shining a light on the unique experiences of women of color -- with intelligence, wit and wisdom.

OUR DREAM WRITER.... IS IT YOU?
You love beauty… but recognize the current conversation is mostly homogenous and exclusive.
You aren’t always obvious or direct, but you can clearly convey our mission, even when it’s unwritten or unspoken.
You devour Allure or Byrdie but also read McSweeney’s and The Atlantic.
You are a feminist, care about social issues, and you can have fun and be light-hearted too.
You know what the trends are, but don’t feel like you need to follow them (or even use trendy cliché terms) because you have your own unique, strong and expressive voice that readers eat up!
You can pitch original ideas with a solid angle and plan (e.g. experts you’re going to interview).
And of course, you absolutely live and breathe beauty!

REQUIRED
Respects and adheres to deadlines. This is SO important!
Available during standard business hours (we sometimes require impromptu daytime phone calls and have tight deadlines)
Previous beauty experience. We are, after all, a beauty site so you need to know how to describe lipstick without being boring or ask the right questions to your expert source to unveil his/her best beauty tips.
Able to pitch unique ideas that our audience will go crazy over!
