Job Description

The position is for its New York Bureau. The successful candidate will work closely with a correspondent covering financial news in North America, including business and US market news, while also working with the New York bureau chief on long-term research projects and features.

Assisting our New York-based correspondent by conducting background research, gathering news and comments, arranging and conducting interviews, and closely following developments in the correspondent’s beat. That said, candidates must be flexible and willing to work with other correspondents on other issues when necessary. Some travel, domestic and international, may be required (this is a position with no article-writing or byline opportunities).

Qualifications:
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred). Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently are required. Background in International Affairs and/or American Politics/Society. Japanese language skills are helpful but not required.
The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
