The New York Mortgage Coalition (NYMC) is a nonprofit collaboration of financial institutions and community housing agencies focused on expanding the opportunity for responsible and sustainable homeownership to minority, and low and moderate income individuals and families in the five boroughs of New York City, as well as the surrounding counties of Nassau, Suffolk, Dutchess, Orange, Rockland, and Westchester.
NYMC supports its neighborhood-based nonprofit members in their pre-purchase counseling, post-purchase education, and financial literacy programs. Coalition members provide the public with access to the tools to achieve the dream of homeownership including information on competitive, fixed-rate loans, closing cost grants, and down payment assistance. NYMC also supports its member agencies who play a leading role in preserving homeownership offering informational workshops and one-on-one counseling to troubled homeowners through foreclosure prevention programs.

Job Description

NYMC is looking for a podcast contributor to work on its new and upcoming podcast centered on urban issues in NYC, with a central focus on housing. The podcast contributor will be hands-on with content research, ideation, production, distribution, social media, and digital strategy. The podcast contributor will work directly with the Executive Director in researching, writing, and creating original stories.

The contributor will nurture story ideas from conception to completion and be responsible for a variety of editorial tasks. The role will include conducting or overseeing research, planning, field recording, interviewing, script writing, editing, directing narration, mixing, fact checking and all other aspects of editorial production. They will also be responsible for helping to strategize on the editorial direction of the podcast.

Ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial in nature and a self starter who has great interpersonal skills.

We are looking for someone to work 16 hours a week at out office in Downtown Manhattan. We can pay $15 an hour.
