Job Description

MJH Associates is seeking an Assistant Editor who can thrive in a highly entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment dedicated to providing decision makers within health systems and hospitals with the information and resources they need to optimize health care delivery and patient outcomes.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities:
Writing engaging news and feature stories for health care professionals
Keeping current on developments and trends in infectious disease, particularly the new drug pipeline and current pivotal clinical trials
Covering industry conferences and events (10%-20% travel per year)
Interviewing experts in the infectious disease field
Filming, editing, and formatting high-quality video interviews and podcasts
Engaging with the readership through social media outlets
Compiling e-newsletters and tracking performance metrics
Brainstorming novel ways to build readership and grow audience
Working collaboratively across the brand to produce a bi-monthly print publication

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university and 1 to 3 years of editorial experience, preferably in scientific/medical/financial publishing
Experience with video interviewing, filming, editing, and formatting
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments with tight deadlines
Everyday familiarity with social media channels including Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with online content management systems and strong computer skills
