Job Description

Smart + Strong is looking for an editorial assistant to work remotely for its print and online publications. The ideal candidate should have at least one to three years of experience at a consumer magazine and website. The candidate should possess excellent written and oral communications skills; be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment; have superior organizational skills; and be self-motivated. A working knowledge of HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, cancer or health issues for communities of color is a plus.

Responsibilities include:

• Writing and editing for print and online
• Developing story ideas for print and online
• Trafficking articles through the editing process
• Following health- and fitness-related news
• Assist with social media
• Assist other editors with research
• Provide editorial/administrative support
