Job Description

Gizmodo is looking for a reporter to join io9, our entertainment and pop culture channel. This position will focus on breaking news in the worlds of sci-fi, fantasy, and genre media, but you'll also write longer features and develop your own unique beat. This job is an excellent opportunity for an early-career journalist with big ideas, especially someone who knows the deep lore about their favorite geeky topics.

The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about the media they consume; they learn quickly on their feet, write fast, clean copy, and are comfortable covering a wide variety of topics that are close to the hearts of a dedicated and vocal community. The candidate should be able to gather news from entertainment trades, social media, and their own sources.

We'd love a writer who has experience in a wide variety of mediums within our genre coverage. Bonus points if you know a lot about comic books, anime, or tabletop gaming.
