The internship with Gotham Gazette may include reporting of various kinds including day-of news stories, features, election coverage, and more. Interns will have the possibility of developing areas of expertise, or a beat of sorts, during their internship, but will need to be flexible and able to shift subject matter and assignments quickly. Responsibilities will depend on performance.

Gotham Gazette interns work directly with the executive editor and at times with other members of the editorial team, and have the opportunity to get to know other areas of the publication's operations, including the daily morning newsletter and weekly podcast, depending on interest and need. Interns are expected to follow high standards of journalistic ethics and workplace professionalism, communicate proactively, meet deadlines, work collaboratively, and ask questions as needed.
