The author is revising the second edition of his NYTimes bestseller with significant expansions. Research is needed to ensure that all additional material has been verified and presented accurately. This position relates only to the revision of the book.
Job Description
Author seeks a qualified research assistant to work on a book project of at least 6 months to one year. It is the second edition of a bestselling nonfiction book about leadership - and will examine the transformation of workplace environments and best leadership practices primarily in the US. Experience working or leading teams is a plus. The author is in CA and the editorial team is based in NYC, but the work is remote. The position will work day-to-day with the team lead with weekly check-ins and meetings with the author as needed.
This is a good job for recent graduates or professional freelancers looking for additional part-time work with flexible hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create research reports to establish trendlines related to growth and impact across tech, large corporates, startups, non-profit, healthcare and education sectors. May include sourcing and citing news articles, government papers, scientific studies and other information sources on assigned topics.
- Generate summaries of the information.
- Identify interview subjects and help coordinate / schedule interviews for the author.
HOURS:
- Somewhat variable but about 10 hours / week for 6 months with the possibility of extension.
